I am an Engineer, fine art photographer and oil painter based in Vancouver, BC. My first career was as an Electrical and System Engineer, and late in 2008, I decided to pursue my passion for the fine art world. I started formal studies at Emily Carr University; then, I extended my art vision by attending the photography program at Langara College and completing my education with a Master's in Photography Projects at Master PhotoEspaña in Madrid.
Tungsten & Golden Hours.
I find immense inspiration and fascination in capturing the beauty of city scenes tinted by the tungsten colour and by the light during the magical moments known as the "golden hours." Tungsten & Golden Hours Low and golden lights are the conditions that call me to take a camera and capture the world. My inner call for golden light comes from my infancy evocation of sunsets in Colombia and the description I found as a child in Pedro Paramo by Juan Rulfo when he describes the yellowish images of Comala - Mexico
StreetScape
In streetscape photography, I aim to capture the essence of urban environments by focusing on street objects, things, and those called city street furniture. These seemingly mundane elements of our everyday surroundings often go unnoticed, overshadowed by the grandeur of architecture and bustling city life. However, I believe that these objects possess a unique character and tell compelling stories of urban existence.
People
I aim to capture the raw and unfiltered human experience within the bustling streets of our urban environments. I seek to explore the lives and stories of everyday people, portraying moments that may otherwise go unnoticed or forgotten. The street is my canvas, providing an ever-changing stage where real-life dramas unfold. I observe and capture the human interactions, expressions, and emotions that define our shared existence. Each photograph becomes a window into the diverse tapestry of humanity, serving as a testament to the beauty and complexity of our collective journey.
